However, to stay competitive, Manchester United is prepared to match Brentford's asking price. To fulfill the financial limitations set by the Premier League, however, they may have to approve a significant sale.

 The most probable team to complete a move, according to sources quoted by TEAMtalk's transfer reporter Fraser Fletcher, is Manchester United. United offers a package that Brentford would find difficult to reject. It is unclear whether Newcastle will make a formal offer, but United is reportedly "steaming ahead" in its pursuit.
