As the tournament hosts and with head coach Thierry Henry's vast talent pool at his disposal, the youthful shoulders of the French Under-23 national team will bear the brunt of the expectations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
But the under-23 teams from Guinea, the United States, and New Zealand will all be confident that they can claim one of the top two slots in Group A and advance to the knockout phases, which begin in early August.

Our Olympic 2024 Group A Predictions
No matter how you look at it, France is heavy favorite to win Group A and go to the next round, regardless of how they performed in the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Henry's squad will have an opportunity to live up to that reputation later this month.
There is enough quality in the United States' MLS and throughout Europe to challenge France, but the Americans will probably have to settle for second place, which will get them into the quarterfinals but probably means a tougher match.
Given these rankings, New Zealand and Guinea will compete for third place. While the Kiwis' recent goal-scoring prowess is undeniable, the African team, featuring Naby Keita and Ilaix Moriba, should do their best not to finish last in their maiden Olympic men's football tournament appearance.
