The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Amavubi of Rwanda battled to a scoreless draw in Tuesday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ntwari, the Rwandan goalkeeper, was brilliant, and Austin Eguavoen's team, who won 3-0 against Benin Republic on Saturday, was left irritated by their iniquity.

Eguavoen substituted Fisayo Dele-Basiru for Alex Iwobi in the starting lineup.

Victor Osimhen, who came off the bench as a super-sub against Benin, started again up front, while Victor Boniface kept his starting spot.

After dummying a Rwandan defender, the Bayer Leverkusen striker had a golden opportunity to repay the faith shown in him. Still, his stunning attempt went high and wide of the goal.

This occurred before Ademola Lookman's dunk header on an Ola Aina cross gave Nigeria what seemed like an early lead. Because a Rwandan player was fouled, the referee disallowed the goal.

After bursting past the host's defense, the Ballon d'Or nominee's day he turned for the worst when he could not find anybody else to target except Ntwari.

To bolster Nigeria's assault, Eguavoen sent on Moses Simon and Osimhen at halftime, but the resilient Rwandan defense stood fast.

In goal, Ntwari kept up his outstanding play, denying goals in several critical situations, including a last-ditch attempt from Osimhen's header.

Even after applying more and more pressure, Nigeria could not achieve a breakthrough.

The Super Eagles still have four points, good enough to lead Group D, while Rwanda is in second place with two.

Nigeria will play host to Libya in October in their next qualifying match.
