Sevilla vs. Valencia: La Liga Match Preview, Odds & Prediction

On Saturday night, two of Spain's most storied football clubs will meet in La Liga at Estadio Ramon; after disappointing campaigns this season, both Sevilla and Valencia will be looking for a win badly.

Both Sevilla and Valencia are struggling this season. Sevilla is in 14th place in La Liga with 22 points, while Valencia is in 19th place with 12 points after 18 games in Spain's premier flight.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

From 2019 to 2022, Sevilla finished fourth place three years in a row. However, they have struggled to a 12th and 14th place finish in the last two campaigns and now find themselves in the bottom half of the league after 18 games in 2024-25.

Although Sevilla's new head coach, Garcia Pimienta, has struggled to get the squad going this term, last season's 14th-place result was their lowest performance in Spain's top division since they were relegated in 1999-2000.

With 22 points after 18 league matches, Los Nervionenses are in 14th place, seven points clear of the relegation zone. They have a record of six victories, four draws, and eight losses.

Before their shocking 4-1 loss to Almeria in the last-32 round of the Copa del Rey, Sevilla lost their previous La Liga encounter 4-2 to Real Madrid on December 22.

Conversely, Valencia has failed to win a single La Liga game when playing away from Estadio Ramon in 2024-25. On the other hand, the hosts have done well at the stadium this season, collecting 16 points from nine matches.

Valencia will be riding high after their 2-0 Copa del Rey win over Eldense; next week, they'll face Ourense CF in a battle for a place in the quarterfinals.

Los Che began 2025 with a 2-1 La Liga loss at home to defending champions Real Madrid. Real scored twice in the second half to win the game, leaving Valencia to wonder how they lost.

With a record of 2 wins, six draws, and 10 losses from 18 matches, Carlos Corberan's squad has 12 points—the same amount as Real Valladolid, the club in last place in La Liga—and is presently ranked 19th.

Valencia is now in 17th position in La Liga, only four points below Getafe. While it is still early in the season, there is reason to be concerned that Los Che might miss out on La Liga for the first time since 1986–87.

Although Sevilla won the last meeting between the two sides 2-1, three of the past five league meetings between Valencia and Sevilla have ended in a draw.

Sevilla x Valencia Team News

In their Copa del Rey match against Almeria, Sevilla welcomed Adria Pedrosa back into the lineup after a recent injury issue; nonetheless, the hosts are doubtful for matches, including Kelechi Iheanacho, Djibril Sow, Chidera Ejuke, Rafa Mir, and Tanguy Nianzou.

Jose Angel Carmona, Alvaro Fernandez, and Lucien Agoume are expected to triumphantly return to the starting lineup that took on Almeria as head coach Garcia Pimienta adjusts the squad.

This weekend, Sevilla will likely start Juanlu Sanchez up front again, as he did in their previous league encounter against Real Madrid. Isaac Romero will also get action in the final third.

After serving a ban against Real Madrid, Pepelu will be ready to play for Valencia. Due to injuries, Valencia will be without Fran Perez, Jose Gaya, Mouctar Diakhaby, and Thierry Correia.

Head coach Corberan will likely start the same powerful lineup that faced Eldense in the Copa del Rey, adding Andres Almeida, Luis Rioja, Yarek Gasiorowski, and Enzo Barrenechea.

On Saturday night, Hugo Duro will start for another La Liga match after scoring five goals in fifteen appearances this season (2024–25).

Our Predictions

Full time draw @ 3.35 on Sky247.ng

Despite not winning a single game on the road in La Liga this season, Valencia have drawn three of their four away games, so we're picking Los Che to earn a point here. On Saturday night, Sevilla will be playing at Estadio Ramon, but they've only managed eight league goals there this season, so a scoreless draw is the most probable result.
