This weekend's FIFA Club World Cup features a matchup between Benfica and Chelsea. The Premier League team and the Liga Portugal Betclic club will meet in the Round of 16 on Saturday at 9 p.m. UK time at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Benfica, a major player in Portugal and Europe, left an indelible mark on the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.  However, few anticipated it, as Águias has firmly separated itself from its group.

When they face Chelsea, Benfica will employ a 4-2-3-1 formation.  With Fredrik Aursnes, Antonio Silva, Nicolas Otamendi, and Samuel Dahl forming his defense, goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin will face the opposition.  Two holding midfielders, Renato Sanches and Leandro Barreiro, will play with offensive midfielders Angel Di Maria, Gianluca Prestianni, and Andreas Schjelderup.  For Benfica, the starting lineup will include Vangelis Pavlidis.

Chelsea is likely to face Benfica with a 4-2-3-1 formation.  The Blues' goalkeeper is Filip Jorgensen.  The four defenders will be Malo Gusto, Josh Acheampong, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Benoit Badiashile.  The starting midfielders for the team will be Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia.  Three offensive midfielders—Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Christopher Nkunku, and Noni Madueke—will be on the team.  Liam Delap will lead Chelsea.
