Bayern Munich vs. PSG: Match Preview, Odds & Prediction

On Tuesday night, Allianz Arena will host a blockbuster Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, with both teams under pressure to win.

Bayern are 17th in the Champions League rankings, with six points from four European matches this season, while PSG are 25th, with just four points from their first four games.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

Bayern will enter this game on a six-game winning streak, with Vincent Kompany’s team rebounding well from a 4-1 Champions League loss to Barcelona at the end of October.

The Munich giants will enter this encounter after a 3-0 victory over Augsburg on Friday, and they are six points ahead at the top of the Bundesliga standings, hoping to reclaim the championship from Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern are soaring in the league, having won nine and drawn two of their eleven games, but they have struggled in the Champions League this season, losing to both Aston Villa and Barcelona, leaving them in 17th place in the standings with six points.

Kompany’s club did, however, defeat Benfica 1-0 in the tournament last time out, and they will be hoping to maintain their fine run at home against French opposition on Tuesday night, having won 12 of their previous 18 European meetings against Ligue 1 opponents.

Bayern have won 12 of their past 14 matches against French opponents and 22 of their last 27 Champions League home games, with their previous European loss on home soil coming against PSG in the competition’s quarter-finals during the 2020-21 season.

PSG lost both at home and away to Bayern in the last-16 stage of the 2022-23 Champions League, and they were memorably defeated 1-0 by the German team in the competition’s final in 2020, with recent history favouring Bayern in this game.

Enrique’s team won 3-0 against Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Friday, pushing them to 32 points from 12 matches in France’s premier league and six points ahead at the top of the table.

PSG were defeated 2-1 by Atletico Madrid in their previous Champions League encounter in early November, and they have also lost to Arsenal and been held at home by PSV Eindhoven this season.

The Red and Blues are presently 25th in the Champions League rankings, with four points from four matches, and have only scored three goals in the league this season.

PSG has won just one of their past seven away matches against Bundesliga clubs, and they have lost eight of their last 15 road games against German opponents.

The French have only won 15 of their past 37 European games, losing 14 of them, and it will take a lot of work to defeat Bayern at Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.

Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain Team News

Bayern will be without Joao Palhinha owing to an adductor injury, while Mathys Tel will be evaluated after missing the last match against Augsburg due to a knock.

Aleksandar Pavlovic and Josip Stanisic have returned to training after recent injuries, while Hiroki Ito remains a long-term absence for the Bundesliga giants.

Leon Goretzka may play central midfield in Palhinha’s absence, while Serge Gnabry and Konrad Laimer should return to the starting lineup after coming off the bench against Augsburg.

Harry Kane scored a triple trick against Augsburg, bringing his total to 20 goals in 17 appearances in 2024-25, including five in four Champions League games.

Due to injuries, Senny Mayulu, Lucas Hernandez, Goncalo Ramos, and Presnel Kimpembe will be out of the game. At the same time, Nuno Mendes, who was missing on Friday due to an ankle issue, will be evaluated.

Marquinhos was banned against Toulouse last time, but he will return to the XI today, as will Vitinha, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Willian Pacho.

Bradley Barcola has been in fantastic form for PSG this season, scoring ten goals in 16 games, and the 22-year-old will start again, while Marco Asensio and Ousmane Dembele are expected to play in the final third.

Our Predictions

Bayern Munich to win @ 1.61 on Sky247.ng

Both teams have struggled in the Champions League this season, but Bayern are so powerful at home that it is impossible to predict a happy outcome for PSG on Tuesday. The visitors have enough talent to go on the scoreboard, but we anticipate Kompany’s team will win narrowly at Allianz Arena.
