New Update
Champions League

With the European football season coming to a close, the attention is beginning to shift to the next Champions League season. Of course, the winner of this season's competition still needs to be decided, with French Champions Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan set to square off in Munich on Saturday, but that doesn't mean that it is too early to take a look at the teams who will join them in next season's edition.

There are 36 slots to be determined ahead of the league phase next season, with 27 of those already qualified. Other nations are finishing out their seasons before the remainder are done during the playoff phase, which will take place before the next league phase kicks off.

In total, 25 teams from each league will automatically qualify for the UCL league phase. Two extra league phase spots were determined by teams' recent outing performance; this went to England and Spain, and the final seven are determined via the qualifying paths.

So, Let's break it down:

England

England has five spots guaranteed for next season's UCL due to their teams' performance in the last two campaigns. The top five was decided, with Liverpool securing the EPL title and leading the pack, followed by this year's semi-finalists Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Newcastle. England also has a bonus spot in next year's Champions League, with Tottenham taking the spot after winning the Europa League last week.

Italy

Italy's Serie A race went right down to the wire on the last day, with Napoli snatching the league and this year's UCL finalist Juventus taking up the second spot. Juventus pulled through on the final day to claim a UCL spot. Italy will have Napoli, Inter Milan, Atalanta, and Juventus representing them in the next campaign.

Spain

Spain has five spots for next year UCL too, just like England, thanks to the strong performances of the spanish clubs in the last few seasons. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, and Villarreal will all fight it out next season.

Germany

Four Bundesliga clubs will compete in the next Champions League, with league winners Bayern Munich joined by Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Borussia Dortmund.

France

France gets three teams in, with this year's finalist, Paris Saint-Germain, joined by Marseille and Monaco.

Netherlands

Ajax is back in the Champions League after missing out last year; they will join PSV.

And a Few More

A  handful of other clubs from around Europe made it to the next campaign, like Sporting Lisbon from Portugal, Galatasaray from Türkiye, Slavia Prague from Czechia, and Olympiacos from Greece.

The playoffs will soon start to decide the remaining teams. With the group stage starting, it's exciting to think about the matchups and the drama waiting to unfold. The big picture is coming together, but the season's not over until it's over—especially with the final coming up on Saturday.
