Dallas vs Minnesota United: MLS Match Preview, Odds & Predictions

On Friday, Dallas will host Minnesota United at Toyota Stadium to conclude a three-game homestand, and the Fourth of July celebrations in Major League Soccer will get underway in Frisco.

The Loons are still in third place in the Western Conference after a 2-2 tie with the New York Red Bulls, while the Toros fell to eleventh place after Saturday's 3-2 loss to San Diego.

Previous Matches and Head-to-Head

Having won only one home game in the regular season, Dallas has shown that home-field advantage is not a benefit, in contrast to their 2024 campaign.

The previous year, they won 10 of their 12 games played at Toyota Stadium and finished only six points out of the playoffs, so their home record this year has been nothing short of amazing.

Eric Quill's squad has lost three home games this season despite holding a second-half lead; the nine points lost put them in fourth place in the Western Conference.

Entering this match, they had let in three or more goals in three league games played in Frisco this year, while keeping a single clean sheet at their home stadium throughout the 2025 regular season.

Although Quill's debut season in charge has been anything but spectacular, his team is up one point from last year after 19 MLS matchdays, with a total of 21 points.

In the past season, the Toros won this same matchup, 5-3, and in their past four meetings against Minnesota in this tournament, they have captured at least one point.

Even though the Loons have been in first place or near first place in the Western Conference much of 2025, they have yet to secure a victory, as was the case last weekend.

They have now failed to win in their first match of the season for the sixth time this season, surrendering 11 points, in a tie against the New York Red Bulls.

Additionally, Eric Ramsay's squad has lost only one of its last eight games overall, a 4-2 home loss to San Diego, which is now at the top of the Western Conference.

Coming into this match, Minnesota United will be riding a three-game home winning streak and a two-game road losing streak for the entire 2025 season.

In their past two league games played away from home, they have conceded five goals, which is two more than they have conceded in their previous five home games combined.

In July 2023, the Loons defeated the Houston Dynamo 3-0 in Texas. Before that, in February of the same year, they defeated the Toros 1-0 at Toyota Stadium. Since then, the Loons have failed to win a regular-season match in Texas.

Dallas x Minnesota United

Osaze Urhoghide (upper leg), Paxton Pomykal (knee bruise), and Anderson Julio (lower leg) were all out for Dallas on the last day of June's matches.

In a disappointing loss to San Diego, Petar Musa scored seven goals for the squad, while Sebastian Lletget scored his first goal of the 2025 season.

Dayne St. Clair, Tani Oluwaseyi, and Carlos Harvey may return from the Gold Cup, but Joseph Rosales may sit out this match due to his involvement with Honduras in Wednesday's semi-finals; Morris Duggan is expected to miss the Loons' next game on Friday as he continues to recover from a back injury.

After taking a 2-0 lead against the Red Bulls in the first half thanks to goals from Anthony Markanich and Kelvin Yeboah, Minnesota let a late equalizer slip through their fingers and lost 2-1.

Our Predictions

Minnesota United to win @ 2.41 on Sky247.ng.

We are leaning towards the Loons securing all three points in this forthcoming showdown, as the Toros have been soft on home turf all season. We  believe Minnesota win this one.
