Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors: NBA Previews, odds and Predictions

On Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors will host the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena, capping up their two-game road trip. 

Steve Kerr's squad will enter this game looking to end its losing streak. It has dropped eight consecutive games against the Nuggets, including four straight. 

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Denver Nuggets 126-122 at the Intuit Dome on Tuesday night, preventing the Nuggets from extending their road-winning streak to four games. 

James Harden's 39 points and 11 assists, together with Norman Powell's 28 points, helped the Clippers mount a comeback and improve their season record to 13-9. Denver had a lead of up to 10 points in the third quarter. 

The Denver Nuggets' fortunes have turned upside down in the last two weeks. After winning five games in a row before this slump, they have lost five of their previous eight games. 

Michael Malone's squad is currently in tenth position in the Western Conference, one game ahead of the San Antonio Spurs for second place in the league. They have lost eight of their first eight games this season while winning ten.

Returning to the Ball Arena, the Nuggets will look to cap off their two-game road trip. They have won five of their previous seven games in the arena, with their two losses occurring in their most recent two games. 

The Golden State Warriors' real championship credentials are being questioned after Saturday night's 113-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns. 

After sitting out the previous game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Stephen Curry returned to score 23 points despite a bad shooting night (8-21 from the field). Draymond Green contributed 13 points, seven assists, and two boards. 

But the show-stoppers at the Footprint Centre were Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, who scored 48 points each (with Durant adding ten boards for his first season-long double-double) and handed the Suns their second loss in eight games. 

The Warriors have lost four games in a row after losing to the Spurs, the Nets, the Thunder, and the Suns. This is the first time the Dubs have lost four games since November 2023, when they lost six games in a row. 

After starting season 12-3, Kerr's squad hit a dip and dropped to 4th position in the Western Conference Power Rankings with a record of 12-7. 

Even though the Warriors are trying to get back on track, they face a squad that has won the past eight games overall, dating back to their first-round playoff matchup in April 2022, when they lost by a score of 102–98.

Vlatko Cancar, a 27-year-old forward, will not play in Tuesday's matchup because, as coach Michael Malone said, he will be out soon with an ankle injury. 

Unexpectedly, youngster DaRon Holmes II tore his Achilles tendon in July during the NBA Summer League opening vs the Clippers. He will likely miss the whole 2024–25 season. 

Meanwhile, Green has moved into second place on the Warriors' all-time blocked shots record with 837 rejections, thanks to his block on Durant in Sunday's loss over the Suns. 

Regarding injuries, Kerr will not have guard De'Anthony Melton to rely on since he will miss the rest of the season with an ACL tear.
