Euro 2024: Denmark x Serbia, Match Preview, Odds and Predictions(25/06/2024)

A critical Euro 2024 Group C match will occur at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday evening as Denmark and Serbia compete to advance to the last 16.

The males of Kasper Hjulmand are presently in second place in the section due to their ability to draw.

Denmark x Serbia Team News

Aside from midfielder Thomas Delaney, absent from the squad against the Three Lions due to illness but is now back in training, no Danish players reported any physical concerns in the aftermath of the England draw, leaving the infirmary vacant.

On Tuesday, Delaney is anticipated to be granted permission to join the squad. However, he is unlikely to replace Hjulmand or Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who were equally impressive on matchday two. The former, Joakim Maehle, Christian Norgaard, and Jannik Vestergaard, are at risk of suspension.

All four players will be ineligible for any potential last-16 match if they receive yellow cards in Munich. Christian Eriksen has the potential to establish a new undisputed record of 133 appearances for the men's team, at least until 132-cap defender Simon Kjaer is recalled to Hjulmand's lineup.

Filip Kostic, a Juventus winger, is the sole player in Serbia's medical ward. He incurred a severe knee injury during the team's defeat to England on June 16, and his tournament appeared to be over. However, he is still attending his country's training camp.

Without a fully-fit squad, Stojkovic praised Jovic's characteristics following his critical equalizer against Slovenia, asserting that he "always trusts" the 26-year-old. However, more is needed for him to be in the starting lineup.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was unexpectedly removed from the XI for matchday two. However, given the failure of the Mitrovic-Vlahovic experiment thus far, Stojkovic may now take the plunge and contemplate substituting one of them for the Al.--Hilal Lynchpin.

Head To Head And Previous Matches

Denmark switched positions for matchday two against a lethargic England, who once again sat back after taking the lead and were made to pay for it on the horrible Frankfurt ground after cruelly losing two points in their first Euro 2024 match against the Slovenians.

Though Morten Hjulmand had other intentions, scoring one of the goals of the tournament so far—a 25-yard scorcher—to salvage a well-earned point for the Danes, Harry Kane's 18th-minute goal would have seemingly put the Three Lions on course for an early first-place finish.

Though they were sometimes limited to more attempts from range and were unable to match Hjulmand's thunderbolt with their later efforts, Kasper Hjulmand's players were effervescent as England cut beleaguered figures at Deutsche Bank Park and might very well have emerged victorious on another day.

Even yet, their two points are good enough for second position in the section—two behind England, even with Slovenia, and one ahead of Serbia—so their destiny is entirely in their own hands, and a win will ensure a spot in the last 16.

If the Red and Whites lose and Slovenia shocks England, they might be eliminated. Still, the Euro 2020 semi-finalists are in excellent shape since they have scored in each of their previous seven European Championship games, and they have a six-match unblemished streak going.

Real Madrid failure Luka Jovic took things into his own hands - or head - to spectacularly keep Serbia kicking in Germany during their matchday two encounter with Slovenia. So far, Aleksandar Mitrovic and his striking partner Dusan Vlahovic are making the cut at Euro 2024.

Zan Karnicnik's tap-in in the 69th minute put Matjaz Kek's team in the position to win Slovenia's first-ever Euros as an independent country. Still, Jovic sprang highest to meet an Ivan Ilic corner in the fifth minute of second-half injury time and thrillingly secure a draw.

Though Stojkovic's fourth-placed team still has the slimmest of chances of overtaking the Danes and the Slovenians to the second automatic qualification spot, Serbia's first-placed prospects were unaffected by avoiding defeat; they cannot overtake England no matter what happens on Tuesday.

The Eagles must win and hope Slovenia loses against England to move up two spots. If the Three Lions defeat Kek's team by at least two goals, Slovenia would finish third and maybe get a golden ticket to the round of sixteen.

Serbia can only concentrate on their assignment against Denmark during such complex permutations since they have lost all three of their previous head-to-heads by an aggregate score of 8-1. Serbia now has just four victories from 13 during their protracted period of inconsistency.

Our Predictions

Denmark to win @2.20 on Sky247.ng

Given what is at stake, this match should be the same as the other four Group C games that have been very close-run, but Serbia's gifted attackers have been unable to connect in the final third.

Such flaws should be deadly against a motivated Denmark squad that gives England a great fight, as Hjulmand's team extends their Euro 2024 journey and sends Stojkovic's men packing at the first hurdle.
