Although all four teams in group E finished with the same amount of points, Romania emerged victorious due to their superior goal differential. Slovakia placed third, behind second-place Belgium, and advanced to the round of 16 as one of the four top third-place teams. The Ukrainian team was disqualified from the tournament.
