Euro 2024: Ukraine x Belgium, Match Preview, Team News, Odds and Predictions(26/06/2024)

When Ukraine plays Belgium at MHPArena in the last group match, they will look to improve their 2-1 victory against Slovakia. Sergiy Rebrov's team recovered fast from a 3-0 setback to Romania, but if they are to qualify for the EURO 2024 last 16, they must also win this Wednesday's match.

While there are no new injury concerns for the host squad, Valencia attacker Roman Yaremchuk is vying for a start after scoring as a substitute against Slovakia.

But the Red Devils showed their mettle with a 2-0 victory against Romania, bringing their playoff aspirations back. Since Ukraine has been having trouble at the back in Group E, Kevin De Bruyne and company will win the game by three goals.

After serving a one-game punishment, Sevilla attacker Dodi Lukebakio will probably be replaced by Arsenal ace Leandro Trossard, who did not shine in the victory against Romania.

Ukraine x Belgium Team News

The offensive players of Ukraine are fascinating; many are young and in excellent or superior shape. As it happens, playing in the Premier League has made many players household names in the UK. For the last ten years, Oleksandr Zinchenko has been a left-side defender for the best in the Premier League. However, the captain of Ukraine is playing midfield for his nation, allowing Vitaly Mykolenko of Everton to bomb up and down the left.

Viktor Tsygankov has been the provider extraordinaire for Girona's unexpected La Liga championship campaign. He has a fantastic relationship with Artem Dovbyk, who leads the Pichichi rankings in Spain at the time of writing. Mykailo Mudryk is a significant goal danger with his quickness.

At only 21 years old, Georgiy Sudakov and Illya Zabarnyi also had outstanding careers, representing the team's future in the future. This Ukraine team has a nice balance of youthful energy and experience. Even the goalies have depth; previous No. 1 Bushchan makes room for Real Madrid's Andriy Lunin and Benfica's No. 1 Anatoliy Trubin.

Unquestionably, the second generation of Belgians has let them down a bit. After spending ten years in the top five of Fifa, the country has just one World Cup third place to its credit.

A few of their major players are still blazing brightly at this age. Romelu Lukaku dominated European Championships Qualification with over two goals per 90 minutes in the campaign, and Kevin De Bruyne has shown his class once more for Manchester City this season. However, Belgium maintains its standards by supplementing these established stars with emerging talents.

Johan Bakayoko will start on the other side of Lukaku and De Bruyne, with Jeremy Doku and Leandro Trossard of Arsenal vying for the wide left position. Mangala of Nottm Forest and Aster Vranckx or Amadou Onana of Everton will be in the middle, providing legs and hard tackling.

One hundred fifty-four caps later, Jan Vertonghen still leads the Belgian defensive. However, Wout Faes of Leicester, Timothy Castagne of Fulham, and Arthur Theate of Fulham are all younger than him. Belgium does have a question mark in goal with Thibault Courtois' injury. Although Mats Sels of Forest is in good enough condition to participate, Koen Casteels should be selected. Thomas Kaminski of Luton also made his senior Belgian debut this year.

Head To Head And Previous Matches

On matchday one, Romania battered Ukraine 3-0 in one of their worst displays in a long time.

When Slovakia led after only 17 minutes on Friday, you may have excused the Ukrainian players for giving in to the pressure. Though Ukraine was a goal down at halftime, they came out in the second half and equalized via Mykola Shaparenko in the 54th minute. Roman Yaremchuk, a replacement, won the game in the 80th minute.

Although winning against Belgium would be difficult, at least Ukraine is fighting for qualification—all they could have hoped for after losing to Romania.

Though, in actuality, the Red Devils should have won by more, Belgium recovered from their shocking loss to Slovakia to overcome Romania 2-0 on Saturday night.

Just two minutes they had passed before Yuri Tielemans scored the first goal. Captain Kevin De Bruyne sealed the victory in the second half with a goal in the 79th minute.

Romelu Lukaku now has three goals, each by the tiniest of margins, which are disallowed. The massive Belgian striker will be keen to score against Ukraine at Euro 2024 after playing well in Germany.

Our Predictions

Belgium to win @1.66 on Sky247.ng.

Belgium has played much better than Ukraine, which has battled through two games. They produced opportunities against Slovakia; their play lacked better luck in the latter third, as the video review ruled out two goals.

Belgium got off to a great start against Romania, leading early. Kevin De Bruyne added their second as they won 2-0. More of a finisher than a creator, the guy City guy is playing a more direct role than at City. With the same number of shots Lukaku had so far in the competition, De Bruyne is the best goal scorer, outperforming the Chelsea loanee.

Both warm-up friendlies saw Belgium win handily, and after recovering from their shocking setback to Slovakia, they deserve favourites in this match. Their pricing still has some worth against a Ukrainian team that will be compelled to overcommit because of their group position. Considering how Ukraine has appeared, I predict Belgium will win easily.
