Previous Matches and head-to-head

First up, the hosts, Le Havre. Last season, they managed to hang on to their Ligue 1 status, but this time, the Dean Club is in for another tough fight. Last year, Didier Digard's squad just scraped by, and this weekend, they face a much more formidable first test. The Normandy-based team is already penciled in as a significant relegation possibility despite only managing one win in their last nine Ligue 1 games last season. Last Saturday, when they wrapped up their summer preparations, Le Havre performed terribly, losing 6-0 at home to Bundesliga team Bochum. Since the summer break, they have shown some obvious defensive problems.

The French Titans achieved more domestic history last season, but PSG's hunt for their first European trophy may continue. With a 12th Ligue 1 championship under their belts and barely a gear to spare, Luis Enrique's superstar players will be itching to make a statement early on here. Last season, under the leadership of the former Barcelona coach, his team not only had another domestic sweep but also became renowned for their formidable road game, winning the Coupe de France with a 2-1 victory against Lyon at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on May 25th. PSG has not lost a single domestic match when traveling during the last 18 months. They have also won all five last matches outside of Paris in Ligue 1, with an aggregate score of 16-4.

Le Havre x PSG Team News

Friday night, we will not see academy alum Andy Logbo play since he is still nursing a long-term ailment and has not played in a competitive game since the start of 2024. Digard will have 18-year-old Ismael Bouneb on their roster after he left second-tier club Valenciennes this summer on a free transfer.

American international Emmanuel Sabbi will lead Digard's attack here. Sabbi won the Golden Boot last season despite only scoring five goals in the top division for Le Havre. Gautier Lloris, a former Nice defender, will start right-back this weekend alongside Arounaa Sangante.

As offensive star Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid in a historic summer transfer, PSG began a new era. Randal Kolo Muani, a former Eintracht Frankfurt player and current French national team striker, could spearhead Enrique's assault despite scoring six goals in Ligue 1 last season.

Friday night will debut Joao Neves, a 19-year-old phenom who joined PSG from Benfica this summer for a rumored cost of over £50 million. Marquinhos will start for Enrique's squad at the Stade Oceane even though rumors of his departure from Paris have persisted all summer.

Our Predictions

PSG to win@ 1.50 on SKY247.ng

Paris Saint-Germain will be looking forward to Friday night's trip to the Stade Oceane since they are already widely considered a heavy favorite to add to their Ligue 1 record this season. With a formidable reputation earned away from the French capital and a perfect record of undefeated domestic trips over the last 18 months, Enrique's squad should be sniffing blood today. We are taking PSG to put down a marker this weekend since Le Havre finished their preseason with a 6-0 thrashing at Bochum.
