Ligue 1: Lorient Vs Paris Saint Germain Predictions and Betting Tips (24/04/2024)

In a postponed match for gameweek 29, Lorient will host Paris Saint-Germain at Stade du Moustoir on Wednesday. The hosts, who are threatened with relegation, have the potential to ascend from the bottom two positions with a victory over Luis Enrique's squad. Should other results transpire in their favour, PSG could be crowned champions early.

When Paris Saint-Germain takes on a weak Lorient team, they will have a shot at winning Ligue 1. This match is scheduled for Wednesday at the Stade du Moustoir-Yves Allainmat. The fact that they let in at least one goal in four of their last five games casts doubt on their ability to perform well on this road trip. That bodes well for the hosts, but PSG's road record puts a damper on their hopes. 

In their past four league away games, the visitors have recorded three clean sheets, and they will be looking to add another one this time.

Paris Saint Germain to win

Even though Enrique's team has won four points from their last two Ligue 1 encounters with PSG (a 3-1 victory in Paris in April 2023 and a goalless draw in the rematch this season), they should break that two-game winning streak against Les Merlus on Wednesday and move closer to a 12th top-flight championship.

Kylian Mbappe to score anytime.

With 24 goals in Ligue 1 so far, Kylian Mbappe is in the running for another golden boot. He recently scored twice in a Champions League quarterfinal match against Barcelona. In his most recent Ligue 1 outing, the French international scored a goal in a 1-0 victory against Rennes. His performance this season has been nothing short of spectacular.

Even though they lost the last head-to-head match, they were dominant. As a result, PSG and Mbappe will play with all their hearts to make up for that performance's shortcomings and win convincingly. Since Lorient is having trouble scoring and defending, Mbappe may be able to take advantage of it.

Correct score: PSG to win 3-0

The hosts have only managed two goals in their previous five games after their 3-0 loss to Nice. It seems improbable that they can turn things around against the champs.

 In their last three away games against clubs much better placed than Lorient—Nantes, Monaco, and Marseille—PSG kept clean sheets while scoring 31 goals in 14 games. PSG will be eager to win this match and establish superiority over the other team after their season-opening 0-0 tie—objectives for the guests' attractiveness at a hefty cost.
