New England Revolution vs CF Montreal: USA MLS Match Preview, Odds & Predictions

This Friday, in the second of a four-game Major League Soccer homestand, the New England Revolution will host CF Montreal at Gillette Stadium for their penultimate encounter of the season.

Montreal remains in last place after losing 2-0 at home to the Chicago Fire, and the Revs dropped eight points out of the Eastern Conference postseason hunt after losing 2-1 to Orlando City.

Previous Matches and Head-to-Head

After looking well going into June, the Revs' campaign has taken a nosedive, and this weekend, they'll be looking to put a stop to the bleeding.

If Friday's game ends in a draw or loss, Caleb Porter's squad would finish July with a nine-game losing streak in league play, despite having gone nine matches undefeated entering June.

Two of their 10 regular-season losses in 2025 came after they had taken the lead, and eight of those losses were by a single goal.

With a loss on Friday, New England would extend their losing streak at Gillette Stadium to three games, matching their most incredible losing streak from last season.

The Revolution have scored first on three occasions this season but has failed to secure a victory in league action. The impact of those nine points on their playoff hopes is currently bearing down on them.

They defeated Le CFM 3-0 in Montreal earlier this season, and a victory on Friday would give them their first season sweep since the 2021 campaign.

Last Saturday, Montreal put up another strong performance, but it was in vain. With each passing game, the team's chances of making the playoffs for consecutive seasons are dwindling.

With only 10 games left in the regular season, Montreal must act quickly if it wants to catch up in the postseason race, where they are currently 18 points behind.

Not only have Marco Donadel's failed to win a single meaningful match this month, but another loss on Friday would tie their longest losing streak of the season.

Still, they've won two of their last three MLS road games, so maybe it's for the best that they're playing away from home at the moment.

In 2025, they have won two of their three away league matches and are undefeated as visitors when scoring the first goal.

The CFM have earned a point in two of their last three trips to Gillette Stadium. Last year, they rallied from a two-goal deficit to get a 2-2 draw in this very match.

New England Revolution x CF Montreal Team News

Ignatius Ganago suffered a quad strain in the Revs' loss to Orlando City, while Brayan Ceballos is available for this match after returning from an upper-body injury; however, he will miss the rest of the season due to accumulating yellow cards.

Tomas Chancalay scored his third goal of the season in his fourth consecutive appearance last weekend, but his goal only kept his team tied for three minutes.

While Montreal purchased Efrain Morales from Atlanta United in return for General Allocation Money (GAM), the only significant absentee from the club's lineup was Jalen Neal, who was nursing an ankle injury.

Jonathan Sirois came in for Sebastian Breza in goal, and Fernando Alvarez started on defence in place of Dawid Bugaj, two of their regular starters, for their match against the Fire.
