At this week's FIFA Club World Cup, tournament favorites Palmeiras and defending champions Al Ahly will square off.  Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in the UK time zone will see the start of the Group A match between the Egyptian Premier League team and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Palmeiras are a very popular South American soccer club and a major player in Brazil's national league.  They have three Copa Libertadores titles and twelve Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A victories under their belts.

When facing Al Ahly, Palmeiras will probably use a 3-4-2-1 formation.  For the Brazilian club, Weverton will start in goal.  The three defenders will be Giay, Gomez, and Murilo.  The starting lineup for the midfield positions is Piquerez, Moreno, Felipe Anderson, and Rios.  On the offensive side, Palmeiras will have Estevao and Mauricio in the middle, with Roque at the head of the line.

The 4-3-1-2 configuration is the most probable starting lineup for Al Ahly vs Palmeiras.  The goalkeeper will be El Shenawy.  The four defenders will be Koka, Ibrahim, Hany, and Dari.  In the middle of the field, you'll see Fathy, Attia, and Den Romdhane.  Attacking midfielder Ashour will start.  Al Ahly will start Trezeguet and Ali in the center-forward positions.
