Fulham vs Manchester United: EPL Match Preview, Odds & Prediction

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday night when they travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

Starting with the hosts, Fulham have been consistently good this season, and last weekend was no exception as they got back on track with a victory. Marco Silva's squad has found a way back into the top half of the league with a well-deserved 2-0 win away to relegation-scrappers Leicester.

The former Everton manager finds morale skyrocketing in his camp as many in West London dream of launching a serious European push in 2025. Even though Fulham lost an exciting match against West Ham 3-2 earlier this month, it was their only loss in their last eleven games across all competitions.

The hosts will be itching to take down a heavyweight on Sunday after continuing their FA Cup run on January 9 with a 4-1 thrashing of Championship side Watford.

The away team, Manchester United, will be relieved to have averted yet another Old Trafford disaster after they narrowly defeated Scottish powerhouse Rangers 2-1 earlier in the week. Even though there was a lot of buzz when Ruben Amorim was hired in November, the Reds have had a terrible time settling into a routine under the former Sporting Lisbon manager.

Last Saturday, they were hammered 3-1 at home by Brighton, putting the Portuguese tactician under intense criticism. He has now expressed his anger. Competing for a spot in the Premier League's lower half and setting several unwelcome records this season, the visitors on Sunday have won just one top-flight match away from Old Trafford since mid-September. After winning a crucial European boost midweek, United may face another difficult test here.

Fulham x Manchester United Team News

Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson has been out with a thigh injury since December 5 and has not played a game since then. On the other hand, Harrison Reed, a former Southampton midfielder injured since early November, may make his Premier League debut soon.

Adama Traore may be given a full comeback to the starting lineup in west London after coming off the bench to score his second Premier League goal away at Leicester last weekend. Former Wolves striker Raul Jimenez will start up front for this team. Jimenez scored four goals in all competitions in his previous five games.

Marcus Rashford may have rejoined the first team earlier in the week, but whether the England international starts for Craven Cottage is still up in the air. Also sitting on the sidelines are players like Mason Mount (formerly of Chelsea) and Luke Shaw (who is also struggling with his ailment).

Kobbie Mainoo should play a complete game in Thursday's match against Rangers, where he will be vying for a bench position. Midfield talisman Bruno Fernandes will be a key player in West London, scoring in three of his last four games across all competitions.

Our Predictions

Fulham to win @ 2.44 on Sky247.ng

Even though Manchester United just averted a Europa League disaster on Thursday, Liverpool will be in for a tough test in this match. The Amorim side, who have struggled defensively for some time and have only won once away from Old Trafford in the Premier League since mid-September, will face a Fulham team that is intent on making a run at the Champions League. The Cottagers will relish the chance to test United's defense after last weekend's 2-0 victory over Leicester and 11 games in a row with only one loss in all competitions.
