As Manchester City prepares for their hearing on 115 allegations of financial violations, bookmakers have cut the team's chances of being relegated next season.

Some betting companies are offering 25/1 on City going down, compared to teams like Arsenal and Liverpool, which are rated at 2000/1.

Chelsea, the London team with odds of 20/1 to 16/1, joins the four-time Premier League winners on decreased chances of relegation. The Premier League also investigates the Stamford Bridge team for transactions that occurred when Roman Abramovich was in charge.

As the club prepares for a historic hearing this fall, the odds on City's decline after one of the most dominating periods in football history have been slashed.

Insiders have pegged October or November as the most probable months for the hearing, while league president Richard Masters has yet to disclose a specific date. Last month, Masters said, "Obviously, we can't comment on the case.". The matter will be resolved shortly, and a date will be established.

The City denies the allegations and faces 54 counts of financial reporting errors. Between 2009 and 2017, there were fourteen instances of inaccurate player and manager payment details provided, five instances of noncompliance with Uefa regulations, including Financial Fair Play (FFP), from 2013 to 2017, seven instances of violations of the Premier League's PSR regulations from 2015 to 2017, and thirty-five instances of noncooperation with investigations by the Premier League from December 2018 through February 2023.

The German daily Der Spiegel released secret documents that revealed the allegations. According to the City, these stolen emails were taken unlawfully. If the club is found guilty, one possible sanction is expulsion from the league.

Neither party can take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas), but they may still file an appeal, which has led many to believe that the whole process might take a long time. Uefa punished City €30 million (£25 million) and kicked them out of the Champions League for two seasons in 2020.
