Wolves 2-6 Chelsea: Madueke hat-trick earns Maresca first league win

Enzo Maresca's Chelsea beat Wolves 6-2 at Molineux on Sunday, giving him his first Premier League victory as manager.

Chelsea cruised to a 6-2 victory against Wolves, largely thanks to a brace from Noni Madueke in the second half. Enzo Maresca earned his first Premier League victory in charge of the Blues.

At halftime at Molineux, the score remained tied as goals from Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen cancelled those from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer.

However, with a hat trick in 14 minutes off assists from Palmer, Madueke knocked the Wolves out of the game. New signing Joao Felix then made it 4-0.

Mario Lemina and Cunha of the home team both had goals disallowed, but Gary O'Neil's squad was exposed defensively and lost badly.

With their win, Chelsea moved into the top half of the table, joining seven other clubs on three points; Wolves dropped to 19th place after losing two games.

Maresca became the first manager in Premier League history to have his side score six goals in their first away game, and they did it in style.

On Thursday, Madueke assisted in Maresca's first victory. With three goals in Wolverhampton, he has already scored more goals than in 18 games at Stamford Bridge.

With three assists and a goal for the day, Palmer became the sixth player in Premier League history to assist on a hat trick scored by a teammate.

Wolves could not stop a beating despite having a better-anticipated goals tally (1.92) than Chelsea (1.56).
