Real Madrid vs Al-Hilal: Club World Cup Match Preview, Odds & Predictions

On Wednesday night, Real Madrid will face Al-Hilal at the Hard Rock Stadium in an early statement of intent matchup as they begin their quest for the Club World Cup.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

Los Blancos will begin a new era on Wednesday night, starting with Real Madrid, who went trophyless for the entire 2024–25 season.  The former coach of Bayer Leverkusen is eager for his new team to make an immediate impression here after last month's formal confirmation that Xabi Alonso will permanently replace Carlo Ancelotti.

The Spanish powerhouses may have been quite irritated after losing the domestic title to Barcelona last season, but they finally put a stop to the madness with a lengthy frenzy.

Real Madrid finished with 21 points from their last eight La Liga matches, including a 6-1 aggregate victory in their last three La Liga games.  Wednesday night will mark the beginning of Alonso's stay, and the Blancos are justifiably considered a formidable opponent at Hard Rock Stadium.

Regarding Al-Hilal, the Riyadh-based team concluded the 2024–25 season with a bang, even if they ultimately secured a silver medal among Saudi Arabia's top teams.

The Blues, who have been in the spotlight this month due to their formal announcement of Simone Inzaghi's appointment as manager (he was formerly with Inter Milan), will be looking forward to Wednesday night's match at Hard Rock Stadium.  Their last outing in the Pro League was on May 26, when they won 2-0 at home against Al-Qadisiya. In their previous eight games, they only lost once.

With a reputation for their prolific finishing and a record-breaking 95 goals in 34 top-flight matches last season, Al-Hilal will be looking to pose serious challenges today.

Real Madrid vs Al-Hilal Team News

Dean Huijsen and England international Trent Alexander-Arnold, who both completed massive transfers to Madrid this month, are on Alonso's travel team.  Just like his colleagues, Jude Bellingham, who has been playing for England for the last two weeks, has returned to training this week.

On Wednesday night, France will be led by Kylian Mbappe, who won the Golden Boot last season in his first La Liga campaign, having previously claimed it for Spain.  Ukrainian custodian Andriy Lunin may get the nod this season despite rumors of a summer transfer.

Ruben Neves, Renan Lodi, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, a former star for Lazio, are just a few of the heavyweights competing on Wednesday night.  In the middle of the week, Inzaghi will start Kalidou Koulibaly, a former Chelsea player, at center-back.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, the Serbian captain and a former Fulham striker, will spearhead the attack after scoring a hat trick in last week's World Cup qualifying match against Andorra.  The Moroccan custodian Bono is now in the US and will make his debut in Florida.

Our Predictions

Real Madrid & over 2.5 @ 1.62 on Sky247.ng

With Alonso taking the helm for the first time, Real Madrid will be looking to make a strong impression in Florida and kick off their Club World Cup campaign.

The Spanish legends will be under a lot of pressure this summer after winning seven of their last eight La Liga games last season.

But Los Blancos are justifiably penciled in as a top contender here after achieving an exciting 5-3 triumph in their last meeting with Al-Hilal in February 2023.

No one should be surprised that Alonso's new team is being penciled in as a top contender with all eyes on Hard Rock Stadium in midweek.
