Como vs. Juventus

On Friday night, Juventus will go to Serie A strugglers Como in search of their first league victory streak since November.

Juve will be playing at Stadio Sinigaglia following a recent victory against Empoli, where they overcame a disastrous start; in contrast, their hosts have lost their past two matches in a row.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

Last week, Juventus lost a disappointing home game against an injured Empoli team after losing to Napoli in Serie A and Benfica in their previous Champions League match.

The Tuscan team took an early lead thanks to a goal by former Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio, and they extended their lead when Michele Di Gregorio gave up a penalty. But the video assistant referee saved the goalie for a previous handball, and Juventus completely reversed the outcome.

Randal Kolo Muani, a new acquisition, scored twice with a massive stroke of luck, and two more goals in second-half stoppage time, with Empoli down to ten men, clinched the deal.

With a victory on Friday, the Bianconeri can go back-to-back in league play for the first time in over three months. A win would put them in fourth position, three points clear of Lazio.

Thiago Motta's squad has only managed nine victories out of twenty-three matches in the Premier League this season due to an overwhelming amount of draws; however, they are still in the hunt for a Champions League spot, which is their bare minimum goal.

That is why Juve will settle for nothing less than a win when they face Como at Stadio Sinigaglia in their quest to extend a 22-game undefeated run in Serie A.

Since January 1952, the last time Como won a Serie A match against Juventus, they have gone winless in their past ten home encounters against the Bianconeri.

The Lariani have been steadily getting back on track since their 3-0 loss to Juve in Turin in August, which marked the beginning of their comeback to the top division.

Cesc Fabregas and company were rescued from the relegation zone by an upturn in form before the new year; despite failing to win either of their past two matches, they maintain a two-point cushion over the teams in the bottom three.

Como made many signings during the winter transfer window to strengthen its position in Serie A, but so far, its investments have not paid off.

The Lombardy club has now gone winless in their previous eight away matches, continuing a losing streak that began with their February final against Atalanta BC and continued with last weekend's loss in Bologna.

However, Como has only lost four home games since being promoted from Serie B, so they will be looking to hand Juve only their second league loss of the season.

Como x Juventus Team News

Juventus signed Renato Veiga's debut last weekend in January, in Pierre Kalulu's absence due to a muscle ailment; the Chelsea loanee might continue to step in on Friday night.

Even though new kid Lloyd Kelly should be ready after coming from Newcastle United, long-term absentees Bremer, Juan Cabal, and Arkadiusz Milik are all back on the sidelines, along with Kalulu. Andrea Cambiaso is currently dealing with an ankle ailment.

One of Thiago Motta's biggest problems is deciding how to start his lone striker. Dusan Vlahovic has been on the bench recently, but he scored his first league goal of 2025 after coming in as a substitute for Randal Kolo Muani in last week's victory.

With two goals in as many games, Kolo Muani has a chance to make history as the only Juve player this century to score in his first three Serie A outings.

Nico Paz, who has scored in each of his past four home games, should continue to be Como's main danger despite new signings, including Greek attacker Anastasios Douvikas. This season in Italy's Serie A, the Real Madrid loanee has accomplished 45 dribbles, more than any other player.

In other news, Alieu Fadera will be out for a while with a ban. At the same time, the home team is still without injured players like Sergi Roberto, Ignace Van der Brempt, Alessandro Gabrielloni, and Alberto Moreno, not to mention new signing Mergim Vojvoda.

In a bold mid-season recruiting push, Jonathan Ikone, Maxence Caqueret, Alex Valle, and Assane Diao were all added to the roster. At the same time, Andrea Belotti, an Italy international who had a disappointing season, was loaned out to Benfica.

Our predictions

Juventus to win @ 2.08 on Sky247.ng

Como has everything it takes to beat Juventus at home, but they're still without a few key players and might be exposed again by Juventus's porous defense.

Juve are infamously difficult to defeat. Thus, a one-goal victory would put them back in the top four of Serie A, regardless of recent events.
