Juventus vs. AC Milan: Serie A Match Preview, Odds & Prediction

When Juventus and AC Milan meet in Turin on Saturday night, it will be two weeks after their Supercoppa Italiana match, and both teams will be looking to win a heavyweight match.

Following Milan's comeback victory over Juve in Saudi Arabia, the two teams will meet again in Serie A, where they are currently in fourth place in Italy.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

Juventus have managed to stay undefeated in 20 consecutive Serie A matches, but their season is definitely not going according to plan because they can't seem to put their opponents away.

Not only did they lose in the semifinals of the Supercoppa to Milan, but in their last three league matches—against Fiorentina, Torino in the Derby della Mole, and away to Atalanta BC—the Bianconeri were unable to convert from a winning position, despite having a 1-0 lead going into the final 20 minutes.

In Tuesday's match in Bergamo, Juve let a lead slip for the eighth time this season, as La Dea prevailed despite a stunning goal from Pierre Kalulu.

With an impressive record of 13 draws in 20 league games, Thiago Motta's squad is now in fifth place, three points ahead of a struggling Milan team, who have played one more game.

If Saturday's match ends in a tie, Juventus will be hoping to finally end their streak of four consecutive home Serie A draws, which dates back to 2009.

But Juve have lost their past four home games against Milan in Italy's Serie A, and they've only managed two goals in their last eight league encounters. This comes after a nine-game winning run for Juve.

Last Saturday, in the nocturnal start, Milan hosted Cagliari, but the second-city giants were only able to secure a home draw. This came after a spectacular Supercoppa victory in which Milan triumphed over city rivals Inter and Juve.

It was the first glitch in Sergio Conceicao's short reign, but the Rossoneri quickly got things back in line as they rallied from behind for the third game in a row under their demanding new coach.

Theo Hernandez equalized in close proximity to Como, scoring his 30th Serie A goal and surpassing Paolo Maldini as the club's all-time leading scorer in that category. Rafael Leao quickly followed suit, scoring the game-winning goal to prolong his recent comeback.

Milan cannot afford to lose many more points to salvage a top-four finish from a season plagued by inconsistency. They are now attempting to win back-to-back league matches for the first time since September.

With several teams, including Juventus, lagging behind them in Serie A, Conceicao's squad faces Girona at home on Wednesday to continue the current season. However, a return to the Champions League for next term is far from certain.

Although Juve winger Francisco Conceicao withdrew during the warm-up in Saudi Arabia and is still a doubt for this weekend's match, Conceicao can at least look forward to seeing his kid again.

Juventus x AC Milan Team News

Milan lost in Como due to injuries to Christian Pulisic, Alvaro Morata, and Malick Thiaw, the latter of whom Sergio Conceicao may not start for a while.

As a consequence, the German defender will most likely be replaced by Matteo Gabbia in the heart of the Rossoneri's back four. While Pulisic might be certified fit for Saturday's battle, Morata surely misses out on facing one of his previous teams owing to suspension.

Once again, Samuel Chukwueze, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Alessandro Florenzi are out by injury; in contrast, Juve's extensive absence list is steadily diminishing.

Francisco Conceicao may play for his father's new club while leading scorer Dusan Vlahovic might also be ready to return from a break, although on the bench.

Arkadiusz Milik, Juan Cabal, and Bremer, who have been out for a while, will remain in the locker room as we prepare for a crucial back-to-back with Milan and our Champions League opponents, Club Brugge.

In keeping with the theme of family, Manuel Locatelli, a former Milan midfielder, and Pierre Kalulu, a defender on loan from the club, should start for the visitors. Tim Weah, whose father played for the same team, might also see action.

Our Predictions

Juventus to win @ 2.22 on Sky247.ng

It might end in a solitary goal on Saturday after an uneventful league match earlier in the season and an exciting battle in the Supercoppa Italiana.

While both clubs' lackluster league performance is indicative of their many shortcomings, Juve's rock-solid defense is capable of frustrating opponents and giving them a fighting chance to hold on to a lead.
