In a highly anticipated Serie A clash this weekend, Napoli will host AC Milan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night.

Previous Matches and Head-to-head

First up, the hosts. While Antonio Conte's arrival last summer may have caused Napoli to have an incredibly quick upturn, the Azzurri have failed to establish any true consistency in the last two months.  Although they did manage to beat Fiorentina 2-1 earlier in the month, that was their sole triumph in their seven prior Serie A outings. 

The former Chelsea manager has seen his team fall from first place in the league and end February with a shocking 2-1 loss to Como.  Nevertheless, Napoli will be eager to add a heavyweight scalp to their collection after their most recent encounter with Sunday's visitors.  The Azzurri are looking to build on their 2-0 victory at the San Siro last October 29th. They will be looking to repeat that performance this weekend.

While AC Milan may have won their last two Serie A matches before March's international break, the pressure is on Sergio Conceicao and the visiting team.  The Rossoneri have managed only two victories in their past eight games across all competitions, and last month, they saw their Champions League journey come to an end after suffering an unfortunate 2-1 aggregate loss against Dutch team Feyenoord. 

Since returning from the two-week break in ninth place, AC Milan has continued to display serious defensive issues. The former Porto manager's team has managed only two clean sheets in Serie A since the start of the new year, and they kicked off March with a 2-1 home defeat to traditional rivals Lazio.

Sunday night's match might be a huge boost for Napoli if former Ajax prodigy David Neres is eligible to play.  Frank Anguissa, a former Fulham midfielder who returned from a slight injury earlier this month, may also make his first appearance in Serie A since February 15th.

In the attacking third, Romelu Lukaku will lead Antonio Conte's assault after scoring three goals when playing away with Belgium last week.  Alessandro Buongiorno, who was impressed after joining Torino last summer, will play behind Amir Rahmani.

Both Warren Bondo and former Valencia sensation Yunus Musah will be suspended before March's international break following his expensive bookings against Como. Similarly, Emerson Royal, a former Tottenham defender, is not anticipated to play after not playing since January 22nd.

The 25-year-old Rafael Leao should start and be a major factor tonight despite scoring once in his last ten matches for club and nation. Youssouf Fofana, who made the move from Monaco permanently last summer, is due to a complete return to the park's center.
